The Chicago Hip Mama Collective covers the spectrum of personalities, lifestyles, ages (mamas and kids), and neighborhoods. Many members make use of intuitive parenting techniques: extended breastfeeding, cloth diapering, child-led potty training, baby-wearing, and co-sleeping. We have a full calendar of events and a lively message board that supports our community's real-life cohesiveness. Participation is required. We are not just a meetup group for moms. … We want to reconnect with Nature and help our urban babies, tots and bigger kids create a harmonious, adventurous and positive relationship with the natural world. So we created NATURE BABES, a group for moms, dads and little ones, who want to get out into the green! We are talking wildlife refuge, forest preserves, organic farm days, community gardens, the beach (and maybe even the nature museum sometimes)!
I am a yoga teacher in Chicago and I love teaching my prenatal classes. I would love to expand my offerings and hold space for other new moms. Practicing yoga during pregnancy has many benefits. Yoga prepares the mind, body and spirit for the adventures of birth and new motherhood. Classes consist of basic standing poses, hip openers, relaxation and breathwork. No previous yoga experience is required.

We love venturing out to parks, pools, splash pads, the zoo, children's museum, rec centers, etc. as well as gathering for mom time to socialize without distraction. If you are looking for fun ways to entertain your little one and share …

All women - singles, married (with or without kids) are welcome! This group is still very new but I hope that in time, it will grow into a vibrant community of good friends :)
