Hi Hip Mamas: Let's meet up at Regent's Park at the kids playground on the Park Road/Baker Street side, near the Boating Lake. The nearest entrance from the outer circle is Hanover Gate near the London Central Mosque. Its marked as letter E on this google map: http://maps.google.c o.uk/maps?source=ig& hl=en&rlz=1G1GGL Q_ENUK338&q=Rege nts%20Park&lr=& um=1&ie=UTF-8& sa=N&tab=wl Sorry for the late notice this month. Next month we'll schedule our meet-ups with more advance notice. We can meet at the kids playground and then decide if we want to go for a walk or set up camp somewhere to sit. There are two nearby cafes where we can get some coffee and treats. Definitely consider bringing some toys for the kids: balls, frisbees, pail & spade, etc Email me if you have any questions about where it is. See you there! Sherine

A couple of us Hip Mamas have decided to venture to Legoland next week. We figure that half-term is over and the summer holidays haven't started yet, so the place shouldn't be so crazy-busy. We're planning on taking the 9:00 a.m. Greenline Coach bus since it stops right at the entrance to Legoland. The bus ride is about 1 1/2 hours long and leaves from Victoria Coach Station in London. For more info go to http://www.rainbowfa res.com/, or send me an email if you want to ride with us. The return fare is GBP 13.00. Children under 5 are free. Please check out the web site (http://www.legoland .co.uk) for all the information on the park. There's something for everyone there (we think). Email me with any questions and/or concerns. Thanks and hope to see some of you next week! Rina

(From the Zoo's website): A visit to the world famous Battersea Park Children's Zoo in the heart of South London is a must see stop for all children - and even the adults, living in or visiting the capital! We offer an exciting animal experience that combines a zoo, animal encounters, a play area and a relaxing cafe. Have you ever come face to face with a ring tailed lemur? Or popped up right beside a meerkat? Have you ever spent time with our Kune Kune pigs - Piggle and Wiggle? Seen an otter at work? Chatted with a mynah bird? Or patted a pygmy goat? From giant rabbits to miniature Shetland ponies, monkey mayhem to the mouse house - this is the zoo that gets you up close and personal. Just like the 100,000 visitors we receive a year to our zoo, we know you'll enjoy your visit - and that the kids will want to return time and time again! There is a charge to enter the zoo. For more info please check their web site. www.batterseaparkzoo .co.uk For those who'd like to make a day out of it, we can walk over to the One O'Clock Club after the zoo to play some more. Please contact me if you have any questions. Rina

If the weather is nice, I may change this to an outdoor location. Until then... The National Army Museum has a great indoor play place called the Kid's Zone. It has climbing structures, a soft play area, and lots of toys. And the best part is that the museum and the Kid's Zone are all FREE! My son, David, and I will be at the 11:30 a.m. session. When you enter the museum, go to the front desk and collect a ticket. It's good to get there a bit early since the sessions tend to fill up quickly. The museum has a Costa Coffee cafe and I'd love to grab a coffee with anyone who'd like to join me after the session, either in the museum or someplace else. Please contact me if you have any questions. As always, please email or call me with any comments and suggestions for times, days and places for future meetups. If you have questions or can't find us, please call my mobile at 07891 777 808. Hope to see you there, Rina

This playground just recently reopened after a long refurbishment. It's a great place now. Come check it out and play for awhile, or just have a sit in the shade for a bit. It's a block of King's Road in Chelsea. The playground is on the far end of the park which is surrounded by Sydney Street on one side (where St. Luke's Church is located), Britten Street, and Cale Street. From a web site about the park: St. Luke’s has unusual and attractive flower displays, a hardplay area available for football, tennis and netball, and a children’s play area. The park is a popular relaxation area for both visitors to the King’s Road and local residents. This park has a dog run. If you have questions or can't find us, please call my mobile at 07891 777 808. Hope to see you there, Rina

The first session of the day begins when the museum opens at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until 11:20 a.m. This session tends to fill up pretty quickly, so I suggest getting there a few minutes early. Follow the line of strollers (prams/push chairs) to the front desk and collect a ticket. The museum has a Costa Coffee cafe inside if you need something to eat or drink. Please contact me if you have any questions. Hope to see some of you there, Rina

The National Army Museum has a great indoor play area called the Kid's Zone. The museum and entry into the Kid's Zone is free. The first session of the day begins at 10:00 a.m. and goes until 11:20 a.m. This session fills up pretty fast, so I recommend getting there just before 10:00 a.m. There is stuff for all ages in the Kid's Zone including soft play for things for babies. There's a Costa Coffee cafe inside the museum as well, if you need an extra shot of caffeine. This will be the last meeting of 2008. Hope to see you there! Please email me if you have any questions and/or concerns. Thanks, Rina
